Most people who feel called to work with medicinal plants find themselves unexpectedly  in relationship to chronic illness or chronic symptoms. You may have found that conventional methods did not offer the support or care you needed and are seeking a holistic approach to healing. Working with an herbalist can provide educational and empowering tools in addition to building a bridge to create lifelong relationships with the land and plants around you.

If you’re feeling anxious and overwhelmed by symptoms and find yourself obsessing over everything you’re eating, endlessly looking things up on the internet, and feeling discouraged or depressed- getting out of your head and receiving support can be the best thing for you. When we obsess over symptoms our body becomes increasingly stressed, sometimes leading to even more symptoms, and halts the body's natural healing mechanism.

As a Vitalist herbalist, I seek to find the root cause of imbalance and work with the inherent intelligence of the body to restore balance.

Why work with an herbalist?

Herbalists can provide complementary care and are not a replacement for a primary care physcian, but rather fill the gap in a world where medical care can often be impersonal, objectifying, and even gas lighting. Working with an herbalist is supportive, affirming and collaborative.

My approach is informed by my deep work with the land and plants themselves, Vitalism, circadian biology, and ancestral foods and lifeways. There are no fad diets, pills, or library of supplements. We will utilize whole plants, ancestral foods, and lifestyle changes that support our vitality through a lens of body as ecology (read more).

All medicine is either grown from seed or wildtended, allowing me to be in direct relationship with all the plants in my apothecary. The quality of medicine is unrivaled compared to conventional large distributors of herbs. By choosing to work with me, you are working with an herbalist who is intimately connected to the cycles of the land and the plants

What does a session look like?

We begin with tea. Get comfortable and settle in. A candle flickers on the altar, and you’re invited to draw a card should you desire. We will set an intention on what you are looking to receive from working together. From there, each session looks different depending on the needs and desires of the individual. A creative process between you, I, and the plants unfolds.

Initial consults are an opportunity to get to know each other and draw out the landscape of your life. More than just questions, a conversation takes place to create a comprehensive health history.

An initial consultation takes 1.5-2 hours. Within a week you will receive a written follow up, which we will go over in more depth at your next visit, along with your custom formulations and recommendations.

“The other side of any problem, no matter how big or small, is the opportunity to ally with it as a vehicle for your own evolution.”

— Robin Rose Bennet, Herbalist

Why work with custom formulas?

Even in the realm of herbalism and naturopathy, we can fall in to the allopathic framework of “take this for that”, merely treating symptoms and fragments instead of the whole person. With the internet at our fingertips we are inundated with information, sales pitches, and over simplified explanations that can actually further dysregulate our bodies by recommending a contradictive herb for our constitution.

Working with custom formulations is an opportunity to receive potent and specific medicine that is balanced and blended exactly for you, and the current ecology of your body.

We heal with the earth. We heal our bodies when we begin to repair from a place of the compassionate witness.

Your body is not a problem to be solved.

Your body does not need to be forced, pushed, or prodded into performing better.

Your body carries the ancient wisdom of life itself encoded in each cell.

Your body can heal.

“Rose dè Danann is a big brave talent - a polymath - with a radical worldview encompassing roots, branches and whole health ecosystems. She has enough gumption to work in many realms and hold the complicated nature of health - the truths of healing inside medicine making and being present with complexity. She has the skill to witness truths that clients bring forth and witness our relationships to our bodies, our families, our land. This is the backbone of healing. Rose is in it. Not cutting corners, but honoring clients even if we do. She grasps the illusion of perfectionism for what it is and conquers it, setting a great example.

She is a magnificent author, root and flower doctor, nutritionist, astrologer and wild land advocate. Her bedside manner and professionalism is top tier. She has great boundaries - never overbearing but instead approachable and accepting clients as we are. She has both comprehensive knowledge spanning many fields and the ability to articulate that knowledge. What a gift to the community that she is working here - Thank you!”
